Healthy Living at Six Brixton.

Youngsters from South London create work on recycled wood to be shown on Saturday 19th July in Croydon. These were created using acrylics and spraypaint in 2 hour workshops. The finished pieces will be shown later at Six Brixton.

Healthy Living Art

The pallets from Six Brixton were made into small canvases and painted by young people from the Healthy Living project in South London. We will be looking to show these on Saturday 19th July so watch this space.

From Pallets to Paintings

The pallets and Plant Pot holders from Six Brixton were recently decorated by young people in Norwood junction as part of a series of workshops to create art from recycled materials. We are aiming to produce a series of finished pieces for display at the end of July.
Keep watching this space.

Brixton going Green

Recently a transformation took place on the Housing Property Services wall owned by Lambeth Council on Somerleyton Road. The idea was to take a bland wall that faces the houses opposite and transform it visually to create a natural but urban designed mural. The challenge for the artists was to work their style into this brief. Bonzai, Lovepusher, Solo and Crymein worked over a period of two weeks to add their own distinctive styles to the mural.
Also the leaves were tidied up and place into specially made composting bins so in a few months there will be fresh compost to be used on other gardening projects. The space will also feature some flower beds by Small World Urbanism to complete the transformation.
