The City of Gold....Joburg

The City Of Gold now in its 4th year hosted a series of murals around Johannesburg featuring South African and International artists. see www.cityofgoldfestival.co.za
In Jeppestown we set to work creating a mural and also engaging local residents in a drawing and painting workshop. We wanted to look at the relationship between space and play so we painted the abandoned tyres which were left at the end of the street.
These were transformed into a giant hopscotch course that the children could play on. We also painted some A4 posters which will be later exhibited in the Bjala building. As the day came to an end the ice cream van turned up.....and he got rushed!
 We have plans for tomorrow
