Its April 2026 and right now I am planning the future of Book Stop Brixton.
The project will move in July 3026 as developers Higgins move on site as part of the Somerleyton Road development in conjunction with Lambrth Council.
I started this project.without any funding with the aim to provide Free books to the people of Brixton. It has been a satisfying thing to do but equally challenging personally and financially without any support.
The future of Book Stop Brixton may be a scaled down version so the focus is on creating a space on Somerleyton road it can survive and still be a part of the community.
The Instagram @bookstopbrixton has seen increased activity ad has the website www.bookstopbrixton.com.
These provide a digital focal point for this project but the reality is Books have to physically be put on shelves and sourced.
