The Office had previously been abandoned by Lambeth Council and had become neglected so the idea was to use Street Art to not only transform the exterior of the building but also to invite Artists from around the World to create pieces for display.
Some of the Residents who took part in the Watch This Space project back in 2013 at Notre Dame Community Hall also had work featured in the show alongside young people like Eninio Risper from @pepolatumaini in Isiolo, kenya.
The Show was originally conceived by Des Maddon (1948-2016) who sadly passed away before seeing the completion of his work. During the first two weeks the show attracted over 100 people from Notre Dame Estate and even as far as the midlands, Southampton and Palm Springs USA!
The Lambeth Living Show also highlighted how buildings that are left empty by local Authorities can become something inspiring for local residents if only those local Authorities like Lambeth see the potential in the waste they create.
Sadly Lambeth Council sort to take out an Interim Possession Order against the Artists and the first hearing was held at Lambeth County Court on 7th Sept, 2017 with the final Possession Order being granted on 20th September 2017.
