Today at #bookstopbrixton we finished the new shelving for the Book Stop. The shelves were made from reclaimed wood and the doors were rescued from a furniture piece previously owned by Mary Ann gordon on Notre dame estate. Mary Ann was moving out and couldn't take the old cabinet with her so donated it to our project. She also donated some wood from her kitchen which we used to build the second shelf.
The wood from the cabinet was made by James Smith and co. A 18th century carpenter operating out of Holborn in London. It's amazing to have this unique piece of London's history now being used for our Book stop. Many thanks to Mary Ann for her support to this project and her kind donation.
The shelving is up so please visit us and pick up some free books.
