Farewell to the Housing Office

The Housing Office on Worsopp Drive which hosted the #thelambethlivingshow back in September 2017 is due to be demolished on march 7th with the work taking around 10 days.
A lot of the street Art will go with it and one of those pieces to disappear will be the work of Maddin Petersen.
Maddin came through to the project in December 2013 when we were based at The Notre Dame Community Centre. I had know Maddin since 1999 whilst living in Cape Town and saw how enthusiastic Maddin was for Graffiti Art with his Crew ' YMB'.
Maddin later moved to London to pursue his Art much of which featured on his Instagram page @ekons40hk.
Whilst visiting London in 2013 he stopped by to paint his trademark Ekons piece on the side of the housing office.
In February 2014 Maddin passed away at home in Cape Town.
The piece on the side of the housing office was possibly Maddins oldest work to survive and it will be a real shame to see it go.
Maddin is very much missed by family and friends and his memory lives on with all of us who knew and loved him.
Check out his Art on Instagram @ekons40hk
