Watch our Space....South Africa.

On a recent trip to South Africa we dropped into the Alaska Informal Settlement in Mamelodi which is between Johannesburg and Pretoria in the Tshwane District. Many people here live in small homes often constructed using corregated iron sheets and various types of timber.
Some of the residents homes were painted and we managed to get a small group of young people together to paint a hub cap and some art for us which will be coming back to London to be displayed on our walls in the Notre Dame Estate.
Also during the visit we met Meleney and Leon Kriel who run the Viva Foundation which runs programs in the informal settlements and is doing positive things for the residents. Check out there website here www.viva-sa.co.za
